Terrorism, International And Domestic Terrorism - 1850 Words

Terrorism is not a new issue in today’s world. It has been an issue for centuries, and even in the ancient world. The military strategy â€Å"total war† can be seen as terrorism because it struck fear in the hearts in the next town before the army arrived. According to the United States Code and the FBI website, terrorism is split in our law into three types. 18 U.S.C.  § 2331 defines two types of terrorism, international and domestic terrorism. According to the FBI website, â€Å"International† terrorism is defined in the with the following three: †involve violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law†, â€Å"Appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping†, and â€Å"Occur primarily outside the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S., or transcend national boundaries in terms of the means by which they are accomplished, the persons they appear intended to intimidate or coerce, or the locale in which their perpetrators operate or seek asylum† (â€Å"Definitions of Terrorism in the U.S. Code†). â€Å"Domestic† terrorism, according to the FBI, is defined with the following three: â€Å"Involve acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law†, â€Å"Appear intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation orShow MoreRelatedDomestic Terrorism And International Terrorism1335 Words   |  6 Pagesnews but our everyday reality.
